First, climate data precision. Solarius PV integrates Meteonorm and PVGIS irradiance data for any GCC location — capturing the distinct solar conditions of coastal UAE, inland Saudi, and desert environments accurately. Generic or averaged irradiance figures produce energy yield predictions that are unreliable; location-specific Meteonorm data is the professional standard.

Second, shading analysis depth. Dense urban development in Dubai, Riyadh, and other GCC cities creates significant rooftop shading from neighbouring towers, plant rooms, and parapets. Solarius PV calculates shading from 3D geometry or site photographs — producing shading-corrected yield predictions that reflect real installation conditions, not idealised assumptions.

Third, financial analysis integration. GCC solar projects — whether government-mandated or private investment — require credible financial documentation. Solarius PV generates business plans, payback periods, NPV, IRR, and lifetime cash flows directly from the technical design, giving clients the investment-grade analysis they need without separate spreadsheet modelling.

For existing buildings, Solarius PV accepts DXF and DWG CAD drawings as the geometric foundation for the rooftop solar layout — allowing panels to be positioned accurately over the actual roof geometry without requiring a new BIM model to be built. Where CAD drawings are unavailable, the site can be set up using Google Maps data and manually defined roof surfaces.

Shading analysis for existing buildings can be performed from a site photograph of the horizon — making the shading assessment practical and accurate even when the as-built conditions are complex and no digital model exists. For buildings that are part of an active BIM project, IFC model import from Edificius, Revit, or any IFC-certified tool brings the roof geometry directly into the solar design environment with full 3D accuracy.

Commercial solar PV design in Solarius PV follows the same workflow as any other project type — but at the scale and complexity that commercial and industrial installations require. Large array layouts across complex multi-pitch or flat roof geometries are modelled using the full 3D environment. Multiple inverter strings, DC combiner boxes, and AC distribution arrangements are configured using the component library. Shading from plant rooms, cooling towers, and neighbouring structures is calculated for the full array, not just representative modules.

For utility-scale photovoltaic farms, Solarius PV handles ground-mounted racking systems, large panel counts, and the full electrical infrastructure from strings through to grid connection point. The financial analysis module produces the investment-grade output — sensitivity tables, IRR across financing scenarios, and lifetime cash flow — that utility-scale project finance requires. The completed PV system model is exported in IFC format for inclusion in the coordinated project BIM model — allowing the solar installation to be checked for clashes against structural and MEP systems through usBIM.clash, managed within the usBIM.platform common data environment, and coordinated with the rest of the project team through standard openBIM workflows. For GCC projects where BIM coordination and IFC exchange are contractual requirements, this integration makes Solarius PV the only photovoltaic design software that participates fully in the project BIM environment.
